Terms of use

Last updated: 12 September 2026 Welcome to CS17 Finance Workshop, part of the CS17 Tools collection. By accessing or using this website and its financial calculators, you agree to these Terms of Use.

1. About CS17 Finance Workshop

CS17 Finance Workshop provides browser-based financial calculation tools designed to help users explore common financial scenarios. The Finance Workshop currently includes tools for loan repayments, mortgages, compound interest and savings goals.

2. General Information Only

CS17 Finance Workshop is provided for general informational and calculation purposes only. The website does not provide personal financial, investment, lending, credit, accounting, taxation, legal or other professional advice. Calculator results should not be treated as a recommendation to enter into a loan, mortgage, investment, savings product or other financial arrangement.

3. Accuracy of Calculations

We aim to provide useful and accurate calculations. However, we do not guarantee that every calculation or displayed result will always be accurate, complete or suitable for a particular purpose. Results depend on the information entered by the user and the assumptions used by the calculator. Actual results from banks, lenders, financial institutions or investment providers may differ.

4. Loan Calculator

The Loan Calculator provides estimated repayments based on information such as the loan amount, interest rate, loan term and repayment frequency. Actual loan repayments may differ because of lender calculation methods, fees, charges, interest calculation periods, rounding, repayment timing, changing interest rates and other loan conditions.

5. Mortgage Calculator

The Mortgage Calculator provides general estimates of mortgage repayments, total interest, loan balances and the possible effect of additional repayments. Unless specifically stated, calculations do not include costs such as stamp duty, lender fees, mortgage insurance, legal costs, government charges, establishment fees or other property-purchase expenses. The calculator also does not currently model specialised loan features such as offset accounts or redraw facilities.

6. Extra Repayments

The Mortgage Calculator may allow users to enter additional repayments and estimate how these could affect the loan term and total interest. These results are estimates only. Some lenders may restrict additional repayments, apply fees or calculate the effect of extra repayments differently. Users should check the conditions of their particular loan before relying on these calculations.

7. Compound Interest Calculator

The Compound Interest Calculator estimates how an amount may grow based on information such as a starting balance, regular contributions, assumed rate of return, compounding frequency and time period. Any assumed investment return is hypothetical. Future investment returns cannot be guaranteed. Actual investment performance may be higher or lower than the calculated result and may include periods of negative performance.

8. Savings Goal Calculator

The Savings Goal Calculator estimates the regular amount that may need to be saved to reach a specified financial target. Results may assume a particular rate of return and regular contribution schedule. Actual results may differ because of changing interest rates, investment performance, contribution timing, fees, taxes and other factors.

9. Interest Rates and Investment Returns

Interest rates and investment returns entered into Finance Workshop are provided or selected by the user. CS17 Tools does not guarantee that an interest rate or investment return entered into a calculator will remain available or be achieved. Rates offered by banks, lenders and financial institutions can change.

10. Repayment Frequencies

Finance Workshop may provide monthly, fortnightly and weekly repayment calculations. Simply changing repayment frequency does not necessarily reproduce the exact calculation method used by a particular lender. Lenders may calculate interest daily or use other methods when determining repayment amounts and loan balances.

11. Year-by-Year Tables

Some Finance Workshop calculators provide year-by-year balance or growth tables. These tables are estimates intended to help users understand the calculation over time. They should not be treated as official loan amortisation schedules, investment forecasts or financial statements.

12. Financial Decisions

You are responsible for determining whether a calculation is appropriate for your circumstances. Before making an important financial decision, you should independently verify relevant calculations and consider obtaining appropriate advice from a lender, accountant, licensed financial adviser or other suitably qualified professional.

13. Information Entered Into the Calculators

Information entered into Finance Workshop calculators is generally processed within your web browser to perform the requested calculation. The calculators are not designed to require confidential or personally identifiable information. You should avoid entering passwords, account numbers, banking credentials or other sensitive information into calculator fields.

14. No Account Required

You do not currently need to create an account or sign in to use CS17 Finance Workshop. If account-based or saved-calculation features are introduced in the future, additional terms may apply.

15. Availability

We aim to keep CS17 Finance Workshop available and functioning correctly, but continuous or uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed. The website may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, hosting problems, technical failures or circumstances outside our control. We may add, modify, replace or discontinue calculator features at any time.

16. External Websites and Services
